I’m trying out posting more spoons less often. So…here are the ones that I have been working on this week. My favorite is the giraffe. We all agree that he looks a little like a dragon.
This year I donated 5 bowls to the Empty Bowls Project that Highlands Community Ministries sponsored. They are raising money to feed the hungry. Several potters from the area donated close to 200 bowls all together. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empty_Bowls
These are heavily textured and finished with a delicate ice blue glaze. Understated elegance.
These scoops were made earlier this year and were just pulled from the kiln today! I just love this Shino glaze.
Just pulled this little cutie out of the still hot kiln. I’m always so impatient about waiting for the kiln to cool completely. Opening the kiln after a glaze firing is like Christmas morning!
Here are the spoons that I have been working on the past few days. The change of season has me looking forward to the new year and finally seeing this challenge (and I do mean challenge) completed! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Large bowled spoon with pulled handle. #dailymeditation
A very different style of spoon. I think that lefties would find it impossible to use. (Sorry, A.P.!)
Getting back into to swing of things after taking some time off to recover from minor surgery. Here we have all of my make-up days including today. I can’t believe that we now have fewer than 100 days left before the end of the year!
Group shot of some of the completed spoons!
