Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 65, Fish Friday

Today is Fish Friday and also the 65th day of the year. 300 days to go for this project. I have been pondering about if I will do another 365 days project next year and what would it be. I think maybe cups? Bowls? Any suggestions?

This is dotted with colorful underglaze. After it is bisque fired, I will apply a clear glaze and everywhere that looks like “background” (just the plain clay) will be bright white. The underglaze will brighten up considerably too.

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 63, Chinese Soup Spoon

I’m loving this Chinese soup spoon! It has a generous, self-supporting bowl; perfect for slurping noodles. It also uses black underglaze that has been scraped away (sgraffito). This will be glazed with a clear glaze and the final result will be a stark, black and white design.
