Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 92, King (6 day Mini-Challenge)

This is the 6th and final day of the 6 day mini-challenge that is part of the larger challenge of making 365 spoons in 2015. This mini-challenge has a chess theme. I have completed the pawn, rook, knight, bishop, queen and now the king makes the collection complete. Alas, I only made these in white. No opponents for these chess pieces! I will post a group shot of them tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last of the Fish Friday spoons for Lent. Happy Easter!

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 89, Knight (6 day Mini-Challenge)

This is day 3 of the 6 day mini-challenge that is part of the larger challenge of making 365 spoons in 2015. This mini-challenge has a chess theme. We have already done the pawn and rook; we are on to the knight! 3 more to go…bishop, queen and king. 🙂

The knight was more difficult than the others so far. It is really hard to make a horse head and it not look really, really stupid. For awhile there this guy was looking more like a lion than an horse! Here is my attempt, I hope it doesn’t look too ridiculous!

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 88, Rook (6 day Mini-Challenge)

Day 2 of the 6 day mini-challenge within the 365 Spoons in 2015 Challenge. This mini-challenge has a chess theme and today’s spoon is in the form of a rook. Next, we will have the knight. That should be interesting…. 🙂

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 87, Pawn (6 day Mini-Challenge)

I decided to do a 6 day “Mini-Challenge” within the 365 Spoon Challenge. I am going to do the next 6 spoon-a-days with a chess theme. Today we will start with the pawn and we will work our way up to the king.

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 85, Steampunk?

I asked for ideas for spoon themes, and I got them! Here is an attempt at a steampunk themed spoon. Tomorrow will be the second to last of the Fish Friday spoons for Lent. Starting Saturday, I will do a Chess theme: pawn, rook, knight, bishop, king and queen. That is the plan…will I stick to it? 🙂 After that, maybe a music theme? Thanks, guys, for the suggestions!

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 82

My son suggested that I try a spoon that incorporates a Mobius strip. Never heard of a Mobius strip?

Per Wikipedia: The Möbius strip or Möbius band (UK /ˈmɜrbiəs/ or US /ˈmbiəs/; German: [ˈmøːbi̯ʊs]), also Mobius or Moebius, is a surface with only one side and only one boundary. An example of a Möbius strip can be created by taking a paper strip and giving it a half-twist, and then joining the ends of the strip together to form a loop.

So, here is my attempt at a Mobius strip handled spoon.

Spoon a Day Challenge, Make 365 Clay Spoons in 2015: Day 79, Fish Friday

Here is my best attempt at a sunfish. I hope that it is up to snuff for all of those fishing experts out there. I certainly don’t know much about different types of fish. Just two more Fish Fridays for lent!

I just love texture, can you tell? Today’s daily spoon/creative challenge is mid-sized and highly textured. Created from one piece of clay. The parts that look like peacock feathers are made with a seashell.
